Explore through experimentation how heat radiation is transferred through various materials and the ways this process is utilized by reptiles and other animals to maintain homeostasis. Educators will understand how heat radiation and absorption rates are important in determining animal habitat design and predicting animal location. During this professional learning, educators will engage in scientific data collection and experimentation that can be directly implemented in the classroom for students to hypothesize and draw conclusions between heat transfer via radiation and animal location.
- Applicable GSE: S3P1, S4P1a, S6E4b
Workshop will also address ways to adapt concepts to apply to standards in other subjects and grade levels.
